Waste prevention and Reuse
Reuse centers are one of the important players in reusing, reducing waste and extending the lifespan of objects, and transitioning to a circular economy.
From April 1, 2026, the Reuse Center at Štula will operate as a physical entry point for the circular economy, intended to accept still usable products for reuse. At this location, citizens can hand in all products that they no longer need, but are still functional and suitable for further use, such as smaller pieces of furniture, home furnishings, textiles, sports equipment, books and other useful products.
The physical entry point at Štula 10 plays a key role in raising awareness and guiding residents towards sustainable practices, as it allows direct contact with the concepts of the circular economy and shows the possibilities of reusing and extending the lifespan of products. Users can obtain information about circular solutions for redundant but still usable products in one place.
The collected products are then systematically redirected to other units of the Reuse Center in Slovenia, where they are prepared for reuse (e.g. inspection, cleaning, minor repairs, upcycling) and resold in sustainable stores. This ensures complete circularity of products, waste reduction and efficient use of resources, while supporting local awareness and the development of a circular economy.
