Mixed waste/residual waste
The following key is used for determining the frequency of residual waste removal:
- if residual waste was previously removed once a week → transitional period until 1 March 2013: once every two weeks → after 1 March 2013: once every three weeks (and once every week in densely populated areas);
- if residual waste was previously removed twice a week → once a week (and once every three weeks in sparsely populated areas after 1 March 2013).
When determining the final frequency of removal (i.e. after 1 March 2013) in each street or settlement, the population density must also be considered: The Ordinance on waste collection and removal stipulates that the frequency of waste removal from settlements of apartment blocks, where the population density exceeds 4,000 people per square metre, is once a week and once every three weeks elsewhere.
Considering these two variables, Snaga's above-mentioned key shall not apply to approximately 12% of its users. This means that after 1 March 2013 (end of the transitional period) some areas or streets will shift from the 2-week removal cycle back to once weekly removal, while others will shift from once-weekly removal to once every three weeks (areas with mostly individual family houses for which the ordinance foresees removal every three weeks).
The days of removal in your street shall remain unchanged.
