Cleaning/washing the bins
Snaga has four vehicles that first empty and then wash the bins. The number of bins washed per day depends on the location where the bins are washed and the distance to it.
Washing also depends on the temperature – in the case of sub-zero temperatures during winter, bins cannot be washed since water freezes.
The frequency of cleaning bins depends on the type of waste deposited in them. Biological waste bins, for example, are cleaned once a year, while bins used for collecting packaging, paper and glass are cleaned as necessary.
Brown bins will be less dirty if biological waste is deposited in biodegradable bags or wrapped in paper.
